The possibility of cooperation between the Czech Academy of Sciences and the multinational company Siemens has opened up following a visit by Klaus Helmrich, a member of the board of directors of this global electronics concern, to two leading research centers of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Helmrich is responsible for research and development activities at Siemens. Accompanied by the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prof. Jiří Drahoš, and other experts from our most important scientific institution, on Monday, March 25, 2013, he learned about the development of a new generation of biosensors at the Institute of Photonics and Electronics (ÚFE) of the Czech Academy of Sciences and about research into the “material of the future” – graphene – at the J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry of the CAS.
