Fibre LaseEr and sensinG optical componENts Development for future MID-IR applications

The goal of the LEGEND project is to develop fiber-optic components such as splitters and tapers for potential use in fiber lasers and sensor applications in the mid-infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Two key research goals are the development of optical fiber splitters, splices and tapers using fluoride fibers and their demonstration as critical elements for an all-fiber pulsed laser operating in the mid-infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum.
