For this purpose a specific crosssection of the double-clad (DC) active fiber will be designed. A large signal, space and frequency resolved numerical model of the fibre will be developed to analyze the performance of the amplifier with the DC-EYDF and to optimize its parameters. TheDC-EYDF fabricated according to the design will be tested in an experimental fibre amplifier and laser.
