The risk of retina damage in the human eye is more than four orders of magnitude relaxed at these wavelengths compared to the fiber laser emitting at around 1 micrometer that are now commonly in use. The project addresses expected demands for key components for laser devices in this so-called &#8220;eye-safe&#8221; spectral region that are actually of increasing importance. The aim of the project is realization and fabrication technology development of industrial samples of several fiber-optic components.
