Prof. Anne M. Andrews<\/a>\u00a0visited the \u00daFE on 15 March to give a lecture on “Personalized medicine, predictive health and wellness”. The lecture took place in the \u00daFE hall and after the lecture, the professor visited the Optical Biosensors Laboratory, the Bioelectrodynamics Laboratory and the Nano-Optics Laboratory, which are conducting related research.\u00a0<\/p>

Prof. Anne M. Andrews is a\u00a0UCLA<\/a>\u00a0professor of chemistry & biochemistry and psychiatry & biobehavioral sciences. She leads efforts in basic and translational research on anxiety and depression, and at the nexus of nanoscience, neurotechnology, and neuroscience. Her interdisciplinary research team focuses on understanding how the serotonin system and particularly, the serotonin transporter, modulate neurotransmission to influence complex behaviors including anxiety, mood, stress responsiveness, and learning and memory.<\/p>
