Mark\u00e9ta Bockov\u00e1<\/a>\u00a0from the\u00a0Optical Biosensors research team<\/a>\u00a0won the prestigious\u00a0Werner von Siemens Award<\/a>\u00a0for her dissertation\u00a0“Multifunctional Biomolecular Assemblies for Parallelized Analysis of Biomolecular Interactions”<\/em>. Besides the first place in the\u00a0Best Dissertation category<\/strong>, Mark\u00e9ta Bockov\u00e1 received the\u00a0Award for Outstanding Quality of Women’s Scientific Work<\/strong>.<\/p>

For 23 years,\u00a0Siemens<\/a>\u00a0has been recognizing talented students, inspirational educators and enthusiastic scientists with a prestigious award that brings industry and science closer together. Due to its scope, amount of financial rewards and tradition, this competition is one of the most significant and independent initiatives of its kind in the Czech Republic. The awarded works are selected by independent commissions composed of rectors and vice-rectors of leading Czech universities, the chair of the Academy of Sciences and the directors of the institutes of the Academy of Sciences.<\/p>
