Technologists Michal Kamr\u00e1dek and Ivan Ka\u0161\u00edk from the Fiber Lasers and Nonlinear Optics research team attended the top event of the world glass society \u2013 the ICG (International Commission on Glass) congress<\/a>\u00a0from\u00a020 \u2013 24 January 2025 in Kolkata, India<\/strong>. The ICG congresses are held every 3 years; Prague hosted such an event to great acclaim in 1977 and 2013. This year’s congress focused on the theme Glass as an elegant and essential material for a sustainable society<\/em>. This was reflected in the selection of 12 plenary lectures, 94 invited lectures and 110 other lectures divided into 6 sessions \u2013 for a total of 580 participants from 23 countries.<\/p>

The session Glasses for Optics and Photonics<\/em> was based on a tradition dating back to 1974, when the Modified Chemical Vapor Deposition (MCVD) method for the preparation of optical fiber drawing prepregs, which has been developed in our institute for years, was first presented at this forum. The session was co-chaired by Ivan Ka\u0161\u00edk together with Andrea Camargo from Berlin and included a lecture by Michal Kamr\u00e1dek on structured fibers for fiber lasers emitting at two wavelengths and an invited lecture\u00a0by Ivan Ka\u0161\u00edk on the method of doping MCVD preforms with nanoparticles developed at \u00daFE.\u00a0<\/p>

At the same time, on the occasion of the visit to Kolkata, the first working meeting of the bilateral\u00a0project\u00a0Mobility Plus CAS-CSIR (CSIR-25-03) of the investigator Michal Kamr\u00e1dek took place during a visit to the laboratories of the Central Glass and Ceramics Research Institute (CGCRI<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
