On Thursday, February 5, 2026, a meeting of LasApp<\/a> project participants took place in the \u00daFE hall in Prague-Kobylisy. The program was opened by Pavel Peterka<\/a>, who presented the objectives of the meeting and summarized the current status of the project and the progress achieved.<\/p>

This was followed by an overview of activities in the research work packages VZ1\u2013VZ4, presented by Pavel Honz\u00e1tko<\/a>, Martin Smr\u017e<\/a>, Prof. Zdena Palkov\u00e1<\/a>, and Jan Kaufman<\/a>. This part provided a common framework for sharing information across research teams and for coordinating further steps in the project. During a longer break, there was also a poster presentation by junior researchers.<\/p>

In the afternoon session, the discussion focused on key cross-cutting areas of the project, in particular monitoring indicators, the Data Management Plan, and related project and financial management. Pavel Peterka<\/a>, V\u00e1clav Svoboda<\/a>, and Jan Aubrecht<\/a> participated in this part.<\/p>

The meeting concluded with an informal discussion and a tour of posters, which provided an opportunity for follow-up discussions between work teams, individual consultations, and excursions. LasApp: Breakthrough Laser Technologies for Smart Manufacturing, Space and Bio-Tech Applications<\/strong><\/p>

The project connects the excellent laser research centers of the Czech Academy of Sciences<\/a> with other leading institutions. It focuses on state-of-the-art fiber and thin-disk lasers and their applications.<\/p>

Six partners are collaborating on the project. The coordinator is the Institute of Photonics and Electronics of the CAS<\/a>, and the other project partners are the Institute of Physics of the CAS<\/a> \u2013 Hilase Centre<\/a>, the Faculty of Science of the Charles University<\/a> \u2013 Biocev Centre<\/a>, the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the CAS<\/a>, the Institute for Nanomaterials, Advanced Technologies and Innovation of the TUL<\/a>, and the Institute of Plasma Physics of the CAS<\/a> \u2013 TOPTEC Centre<\/a>.<\/p>

The project received financial support from the Jan Amos Komensk\u00fd Operation Programme of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and is co-financed by EU funds.<\/p>
