Professional activities:

2008–today: Senior research fellow at the Institute of Photonics and Electronics, Czech Academy of Sciences

2006–2007: Postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Photonics and Electronics, Czech Academy of Sciences. Concerned with research on preparation of special optical fibers for sensors and communications.

April 2003–December 2005: Postdoctoral fellow in Institute of Chemical Processes Fundamentals of Czech Academy of Sciences. Concerned with optical biosensors and monitoring of microorganisms by intrinsic fluorescence.

September 2001–March 2002: Research assistant, Institute of Chemical Processes Fundamentals of Czech Academy of Sciences

Scientific internship:

February–August 1999: Socrates/Erasmus stage at École des Mines d’Albi (France). The stage was oriented to an analysis of soil polluted by heavy metals


Education:

1998–2003  Ph.D., Doctoral study at Department of Environmental Chemistry of ICT Prague in cooperation with Institute of Chemical Processes Fundamentals of Czech Academy of Sciences
Doctoral thesis: Monitoring of Environmental Influence on Model Microorganism Cultures by Optical Methods 

1993–1998  MSc., Institute of Chemical Technology Prague, Faculty of Environmental Technology, Department of Water Technology and Environmental Engineering.
Diploma thesis: Removal of Heavy Metals from Water Solutions by Means of Special Sorbents
