From: 18. June 1996
To: 20. June 1998
Project number:

The proposed project is devoted to research in sensing systems capable of direct real-time monitoring of highly specifically interacting biological compounds (e.g. antigens and antibodies, ligands and receptores) in blood (plasma, serum). The research effort will be focused on surface plasmons resonance sensors based on the coupling between surface plasmons and guidedmodes of optical waveguides (optical fibers, integrated optical waveguides) with potential for in-vivo and in-vitro applications. Specialattention will be given to SPR biosensors for monitoring of the following biochemical systems: fibrin/fibrinogen structures, glycohemoglobin and heparin.
