Research into waveguide dielectrical lasers is rapidly gathering pace, because their small dimensions and good functional parameters make them predestined for a broad range of utilization. The waveguiding arrangement has advantages also for realisation of optical planar amplifiers, convertors etc. Though till now few types of dielectrical waveguide lasers, mostly on classical host materials as LiNbO3 or glass, have been examined, but suitable technologies for fabrication of high quality waveguides in avariety of host materials doped with various laser active ions are still lacking. A subject of the presented project is to investigate technological procedures for fabrication of highquality waveguides in a large variety of well known and not yet commonlyused host materials with the aim to suggest and develop active waveguide structures, which may be utilized as bases for various integrated optics coMinisterstvo průmyslu a obchodunents operating in a broad range of wavelengths.
