Optical biosensors shone at the Academic Assembly

At the Academic Assembly on April 20, the extraordinary result of the Institute of Photonics and Electronics from the Optical biosensors research team of Prof. Jiří Homola was presented.

Every year, one extraordinary result is presented at the meeting of the Academic Assembly in the form of a video, which significantly presents the Czech Academy of Sciences and addresses the general public. This year, an extraordinary result from our workplace was selected for presentation at the meeting of the Academic Assembly on April 20, namely from the Optical biosensors research team of Prof. Jiří Homola.

The Optical Biosensors team has developed a new analytical method that allows them to detect nucleic acids with extreme sensitivity in a blood sample – thus helping to diagnose various diseases. The news server Novinky.cz, for example, wrote about the discovery.
