From September 14 to 18, the 24th annual Czech-Polish -Slovak Optical Conference (CPSOC 2026) took place at the HORIZONT Hotel in Pec pod Sněžkou from September 14 to 18, where postdoctoral researcher Andrei Borodkin won an impressive second place for the best poster titled “Resonant interaction of acoustic waves with light in optical fibers.”
The CPSOC (Czech–Polish–Slovak Optical Conference) is one of the long-standing professional conferences focused on contemporary optics and photonics. Its 24th edition featured lectures and poster presentations in fields such as laser physics and laser applications, optical communications, quantum optics, spectroscopy, biomedical optics, and optical sensors. This year’s event also included the joint Czech–Polish Photonics Workshop 2026, which aimed to strengthen cooperation between academia and industry in the field of photonics. The conference was organized by VSB – Technical University of Ostrava in collaboration with the Czech Optical Cluster and the Polish Photonics Technology Platform.
